Despite periods of economic downturns and crisis, Mexico recently achieved a significant milestone – enrolling 52.6 million previously uninsured Mexicans in public medical insurance programs and thereby achieving universal health coverage in less than a decade.

The Center is a multi-disciplinary endeavour that has developed into a world class European, Central European and Central Asian education resource for Public Health practice.

Brussels, June 22 - Ahead of the European Summit of June (28-29), leading Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) joined a broad coalition of organisations warning European leaders to act urgently to prevent Europe from a health crisis.

Every year, World Health Day is celebrated on 7 April to mark the anniversary of the founding of WHO in 1948. Each year a theme is selected for World Health Day that highlights a priority area of concern for WHO.

Annual Summer School on Health Law and Ethics

Call for registration

The Erasmus Observatory  announces the Annual Summer School on Health Law and Ethics in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In a two-week period, from 18th of June until 29th June 2012, various aspects of health law and ethics will be taught. The course is designed to enhance the preparation of health professionals confronted with legal and ethical issues. Phd and Master students in this field are also welcome to participate. The course focuses on both theoretical and practical aspects of health law and ethics.
